Dr. Suzanne Welker grew up in Clifton Forge, Virginia, where she spent her days learning to ride, care for, and whole-heartedly love unruly ponies. Since age 6, she has been a devoted equestrian, and she still enjoys many disciplines of riding, including Hunter/ Jumpers and Dressage.
Dr. Welker graduated with a B.S. in Animal Science from Cornell University in 2007 and received her D.V.M degree from the Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine in 2011. From 2012-2014, Dr. Welker was enrolled in the ABVP Residency Program under Dr. Michael Erskine’s supervision.
Dr. Welker currently resides in Garrett Park, Maryland, with her husband, Steve. They have two young children, Eliza and Heath, and two terrier mixes, Cosette and Sansa. In her spare time, Dr. Welker enjoys hiking, singing, watching dramas/thrillers, eating spicy food and playing with her children (both two and four legged).
